Developing of a Serial Production of Plug- In Hybrid by the BMW Automobile

BMW Automobiles Hybrid

A highly luxurious and famous cars manufacturer, BMW is increasing a serial production plug-in hybrid electric sports car based on the BMW (VED) Vision Efficient Dynamics idea shown at the Frankfurt motor show in at, Leipzig trade fair center, BMW offered a full technology platform vehicle based on the original BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics concept study.

Combination & Facilitation:

The amalgamation of a three-cylinder turbo diesel with a hybrid synchronous motor at the front axle and a full-hybrid motor at the rear axle facilitates a mostly and largely system production of 241 kW/328 bhp. The design of the BMW Active Hybrid technology permit performance shape at the level of a sports car, with speeding up from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, with an average fuel utilization in the EU test cycle (KV01) of 3.76 liters/100 km (62.6 mpg-US), and a carbon-dioxide release rating of 99 grams per km (1.3 L/100km and 33g CO2/km; EU-PHEV ECE-R101).

A skill and facilitation of wing doors access to both rows of seats, while wide aerodynamic measures decrease the drag coefficient to 0.22. The lithium-polymer rechargeable battery is placed innermost in a longitudinal chassis factor and can be fully charged at a usual power socket within two and a half hours. The vehicle maintains an all-electric range of some 50 kilometres (31 miles), while a 24-liter diesel tank enlarges the total range of the automobile to up to 700 kilometres (435 miles).

A Joint Venture Mega City Vehicle:

An automobile manufacturer, BMW Group is also increasing and expanding its plant in Leipzig, Germany, with an investment of around €400 million (US$563 million) in the time period up to 2013 in new buildings and machinery for the manufacture of the electric Megacity Vehicle (MCV). Moreover, together with the production of components, the BMW Group and the business partner and joint venture arrangement with the SGL Group for the production of carbon fibers are investing a total of €530 million (US$746 million) in this scheme/ project.
