SPECIAL CNIC IN PAKISTAN for DISABLED PEOPLE

Special CNIC for Disabled People in Pakistan:

President of Pakistan has inaugurated the Special CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) Project for special persons/disabled persons on August 10’ 2009.

Disabled Persons may go to the nearest District Headquarter Hospital DHQ and meet with Social Welfare Officer there.

Fill the form, submit it there and get a date for the medical board.

After clearance from the medical board, you will be issued a disability certificate.

Submit this certificate along with your CNIC and get special persons SCNIC from NADRA after a few days.

The disability certificate can be obtained from the Ministry of Social Welfare (NCRDP) and Provincial or District Social Welfare Offices.

This special SCNIC card will facilitate people with disabilities to acquire advantages from Government beneficiary programs.

Persons with Disabilities can obtain this special CNIC card from any of NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) branch offices throughout Pakistan based on or depending on disability certificate. 

Benefits of Special Card of PWDs:

1. 50 percent discount on Air travel as well as on Rail fare.

2. Provision of Insurance shields disabled persons without custodians otherwise a source of income.

3. Privilege for micro-credit finance to persons with disabilities for any trade or business.

4. Duty-free car import for persons with disabilities.

5. Instant modifications as well as improvements in building control regulations to certify the stress-free special right to use to people with disabilities.

6. Facility for wheelchair access on streets for the person with disabilities.

7. Provision and facilities of special parking space for vehicles in use of the person with disabilities in upcoming buildings structures.

8. Free of cost medical treatment for the person with disabilities, children besides parents in all government hospitals.

Guidelines for Attainment of Disability Certificate and Special Card:

Disability Certificates:

To assist the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), the Government of Pakistan has started issuing Special National Identity Cards (CNICs) carrying and displaying a disability monogram on it. For getting special CNICs, Persons with Disabilities have to go through a medical examination managed by a Medical Board at Social Welfare Offices also with District Headquarter Hospital as well, situated in all districts of Pakistan.

On receiving Disability Certificate from the respective Social Welfare Office and District Headquarter hospital, the candidate will apply for getting a Special National Identity Card (SCNIC) at the NADRA office of his or her relevant district. After a few days, finally, the NADRA office will issue the special disability card SCNIC to the applicant.
