The government of Pakistan forgot the ratification. 

The United Nations General Assembly agreed to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in 2006. So far, 148 states have signed and hundred have sanctioned this dynamic convention. The Government of Pakistan engaged in and signed the convention on September 25, 2008. 

The President said the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal rights to all citizens. Addressing the gathering, the President termed the day as historic and said that it was a great pleasure and privilege that the signing and the ratification was happening during the present democratic government. He called upon members of civil society, NGOs and affluent people to assist the government in ensuring that the people with special needs are being properly looked after. President Zardari said caring for the special people was very close to his heart and he was personally committed to the cause of disabled people. The President called upon the federal and provincial governments to carefully review the UN Convention and take all necessary steps for the protection and due care of every special person. President Asif Ali Zardari signed the Instrument of Ratification on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities at Aiwan-e-Sadr (Presidency) at a special ceremony attended by persons with special needs, members of civil society, NGOs and I NGOs. 

The Convention is envisioned as a human rights mechanism with a flawless, social development measurement. It takes on a wide-ranging classification of persons with disabilities and endorses that all persons with all types of disabilities must relish all human rights and fundamental free will. It illuminates and meets the requirements that how all groups of rights apply to persons with disabilities and recognizes areas where adaptations have to be made for persons with disabilities to excellently exercise their rights and areas where their rights have been violated, and where protection of rights must be protected.
