Makhdoom Mohammad Zaman Shah, Thatta Sindh Pakistan

Makhdoom Abdul Latif, father of Makhdoom Mohammad Zaman Shah, on a visit to the famous saint of Thatta, Makhdoom Abdul Qasim, was sitting beneath a tree. Suddenly, birds began to flock onto the tree, and soon there was a huge lot of them there. The atmosphere was filled with their chirpings and the ground was strewn with fruits and leaves falling from the tree. Seeing this, Makhdoom Abdul Qasim told Makhdoom Abdul Latif that there would be a huge concourse of seekers around his third son. And the foretelling came true.

Birth: 1125 A.H, (1713 A.D.)          Death: 1188 A.H, (1774 A.D.) 

He was a great scholar and mystic of Sindh. His forefathers belonged to Arabia and migrated to Sindh (City in Pakistan) during the Abbasi rule settled near Thatta. His ancestors owed allegiance to the Suharwardiya order. At an early age, he learned the Holy Quran from his father and then proceeded to Thatta which was then a great seat of learning. There, he completed his education in exoteric knowledge and acquired excellence in it. 

Even while studying, he met Sheikh Mohammad, who was head of the Naqshbandiya order and lived in Thatta, So, after acquiring exoteric knowledge, he joined the circle of disciples of Sheikh Mohammad, who made him first occupy his seat and then conferred upon him his lieutenancy as well as permission to make disciples. Makhdoom Mohammad Zaman himself says: “Nobody among earlier saints had ever before accorded permission to anyone to make disciples after he had been made to occupy his (saint’s) seat then ordering other disciples to bear allegiance to him”. His grave, in Lowari, is visited by a vast number of people.

 

 

ایک مرتبہ مخدوم محمد زمان شاہ کے والد مخدوم عبداللطیف، ٹھٹھہ کے مشہور بزرگ مخدوم ابوالقاسم کی خدمت میں حاضر تھے اور ایک درخت کے نیچے بیٹھے ہوئے تھے، اچانک درخت پر پرندے جمع ہونے لگے، اورتھوڑی ہی دیر میں جم غفیر ہوگیا یا فضا ان کی چہکار سے معمور ہو گئی اور درخت کے پھول،  پھل اور پتے زمین پر بکھرنے لگے اور زمین ان سے بھر گئی. یہ دیکھ کر مخدوم ابوالقاسم نے مخدوم عبداللطیف سے فرمایا. "تیرے فرزند کے اردگرد طالبوں کا اسی طرح ہجوم ہوگا" اور یہ پیش گوئی پوری ہوئی۔

سندھ کے جلیل القدر عالم عارف تھے. آپ کے آباء و اجداد اصل عربستان کے تھے جو عباسی عہد حکومت میں ہجرت کرکے سندھ آئے اور ٹھٹھہ کے قریب آباد ہوگئے. آپ کے بزرگ سلسلۂ سہروردیہ میں بیعت تھے۔ ابتدائے عمر ہی میں قرآن پاک کی تعلیم اپنے والد محترم سے حاصل کی اور ٹھٹھہ تشریف لے گئے، جو اُس زمانے میں علم و حکمت کا بڑا مرکز تھا۔

ٹھٹھہ میں آپ نے علومِ ظاہری کی تکمیل کی اور ان میں کمال حاصل کیا۔ تحصیل علم کے زمانے ہی میں آپ کی ملاقات شیخ محمد سے ہوئی جو سلسلہ نقشبندیہ کے سربراہ تھے اور ٹھٹھہ ہی میں مقیم تھے۔ چنانچہ علومِ ظاہری کی تکمیل کے بعد آپ شیخ محمد کے حلقہ ارادت میں شریک ہوئے۔ شیخ محمد نے آپ کو اپنی مسند پر بٹھا کر اجازت و خلافت سے نوازا. مخدوم محمد زمان فرماتے ہیں۔

قدیم مشائخ میں سے کسی نے آج تک اس قسم کی اجازت نہیں دی، کہ اپنی زندگی ہی میں ایک مُرید کو اپنی مَسند پر بٹھا کر دوسرے تمام مُریدوں کو اُسی سے بیعت کا حکم دیا ہو۔.

آپ کا مزار مبارک لواری شریف میں زیارت گہہِ خلائق ہے۔
