Foods that help protect against the most common liver disease

Foods that help protect against the most common liver disease.

Fatty liver disease is the most common chronic liver disease worldwide, which is often fatal. However, eating a high-protein, low-calorie diet can help dissolve this harmful fat that accumulates in the liver.

This was revealed in a new medical study

Fatty liver disease is often associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and lipid disorders, and if left untreated, fatty liver disease can be life-threatening.

There can be several reasons for this disease including unhealthy lifestyles like consuming high-fat and high-sugar foods, avoiding exercise, and others, which have already been proven in medical research reports.

Research

A study published in the medical journal Journal Liver International examined how a high-protein diet positively affects the amount of fat in the liver.

The new findings give us a deeper understanding of the effects of protein-rich foods, said researchers at the German Institute of Human Nutrition Potsdam Reberiecki.

The study involved 19 obese people who were fed high- or low-protein diets for 3 weeks while liver samples were obtained through surgery.

Analysis of these samples showed that low-calorie, high-protein diets reduced liver fat more efficiently than low-protein diets.

The researchers found that the high-protein diet resulted in 40 percent of liver fat being melted, while no difference was seen in the low-protein group.

However, there was a 5 kg decrease in the body weight of both groups.

The researchers said that more large-scale research is needed to confirm the results so that a low-fat, high-protein diet can be recommended to prevent fatty liver disease.

Protein-rich foods

Protein-rich foods are useful for weight loss, and that's why their popularity has increased in recent years.

Protein is a complex group of molecules that perform all sorts of functions for the body, making hair, nails, bones, and muscles.

Protein gives tissues and organs their structure and also helps in their function.

Protein comes in a variety of forms, so choose healthy and low-fat sources. Eggs, fruits, and vegetables can provide you with many vitamins, minerals, and fiber along with protein while eating red meat and chicken in moderation. It is also easy to get protein.
